Hubungan Penggunaan Smartphone Bermasalah dengan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis pada Remaja Awal

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah meningkatkan ketergantungan remaja pada ponsel pintar, yang dapat berpotensi menyebabkan penggunaan smartphone bermasalah. Remaja awal banyak yang menghabiskan waktu hingga 5 jam per hari untuk menggunakan smartphone, sehingga aktivitas sehari-hari mereka menjadi terganggu. Penggunaan smartphone yang berlebih dapat mengurangi interaksi sosial dan keterlibatan dalam aktivitas yang merangsang remaja untuk berpikir kritis, sehingga dapat berdampak pada perkembangan kognitif remaja. Tujuan pada studi ini untuk menganalisis hubungan antara Problematic Smartphone Use (PSU) dengan Critical Thinking (CT) pada remaja awal. Studi ini menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis korelasional. Teknik total sampling digunakan dengan melibatkan 342 remaja usia 12-15 tahun di Desa Tanjung, Kecamatan Klego, Kabupaten Boyolali. Pengumpulan data melalui instrumen Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV) untuk mengukur tingkat PSU dan Questionnaire of Attitudes towards Critical Thinking (QATCT) untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden (26,32%) durasi penggunaan smartphone selama lebih dari 6 jam per hari, dengan tingkat PSU sebagian besar berada dalam kategori sedang (71,9%). Uji korelasi Spearman Rank menunjukkan hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara Problematic Smartphone Use dan Critical Thinking (r = -0,393, p = 0,001), yang mengindikasikan semakin tinggi tingkat Problematic Smartphone Use, semakin rendah Critical Thinking remaja awal. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya pengelolaan penggunaan smartphone yang lebih bijak di kalangan remaja untuk menghindari dampak negatif terhadap perkembangan kognitif pada remaja awal. Hasil studi ini dapat menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan intervensi edukatif guna meminimalkan risiko penggunaan smartphone yang bermasalah.
